IEEE-USA is saddened to learn of the passing of Charles Cerny, a longtime IEEE volunteer and past chair of the IEEE Dayton Section.

Since 2019, Charles played a critical role in coordinating IEEE-USA’s annual participation in Dayton’s Big Hoopla STEM event — leading the way in solving problems, gathering volunteers and instructing the next generation of engineers with an inviting smile, quick wit and generous heart.

Charles will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and we at IEEE-USA are thankful to have worked alongside him and learned from his years of experience. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Charles’ family during this difficult time.

Charles’ family has requested memorial contributions may be made to IEEE Foundation to support those who study science and engineering. Please click here to donate.
